How do I Empty the Log File for a Database?
Run:
BACKUP LOG data_999 TO DISK='NUL'
DBCC SHRINKFILE(DEFAULTDB_log, 1)
This will shrink your database's logfile to one percent of its original size. Remeber to take a full backup afterwards because this breaks the chain of transaction log backups.
