What is SaaS (Software-as-a-Service)

• Software as a service (or SaaS) is a way of delivering applications over the Internet—as a service. Instead of installing and maintaining software, you simply access it via the Internet, freeing yourself from complex software and hardware management. SaaS applications are sometimes called Web-based software, on-demand software, or hosted software. Whatever the name, SaaS applications run on a SaaS provider’s servers. The provider manages access to the application, including security, availability, and performance. SaaS customers have no hardware or software to buy, install, maintain, or update. Access to applications is easy: You just need an Internet connection.

How do I sell online?

• Choose what you're going to sell online. Determine how you will ship orders. Decide how you will accept payments online. Choose your domain name. Customize the site to your corporate identity. Add products to your online store. Launch and promote your online store.

Are there any contracts to sign?

• No. Payments are made month-by-month and you can cancel at any time. If you cancel, we will stop billing you immediately. We're all about choice and although we are extrememly confident that you'll love our product, we won't force you to stay.

I already have a website. Can I import my data?

• Yes, you can. Once we know what system you are currently using (i.e Sage, Quickbooks, Salesforce etc) we can provide you advice and guidance on what data you should bring over to our system and the best way to do it. We provide a simple import mechanism to quickly populate your system with your current information. You can import customers, products, images and variations into BirdDog Enterprise from a standard CSV (comma separate values) file. Most shopping carts support exporting in this format, and you can watch a video on our support page to see how easy it is to import into the BirdDog Enterprise.

Do you charge to install a SSL certificate?

• No. Although all SSL certificates must be installed by one of our web professionals, we extend this service at no charge.

What is an SSL certificate?

• A Secure Socket Layer (SSL) certificate provides a layer of security on your site to help encrypt sensitive data, such as credit card numbers. Although an SSL certificate is not required, most consumers look for one before submitting sensitive personal information.

What products can I sell?

• BirdDog Enterprise is extremely flexible when it comes to different product types. You can sell physical or tangible products such as apparel and computers as well as digital products such as software, music or ebooks.

Do I need my own merchant account?

• It's up to you. A merchant account allows you to accept credit cards from your store and get paid directly into your checking account. If you don't have a merchant account, we can set you up with one or you can use PayPal. A lot of our clients start with PayPal and then move to their own merchant account.

Do you perform data backups?

• Yes. We perform a complete database backup weekly and can restore your site if needed.

Does BirdDog Enterprise handle email accounts?

• Yes. We will provide top-tier email hosting and account service for every licensed user on your account.

How is bandwidth/storage overage calculated?

• Bandwidth over your allocated monthly allowance is charged at 1 cent per megabyte. Storage space over your monthly allowance is charged at 10 cents per megabyte.

Which payment methods do you accept?

• We accept all major credit cards: Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover, and More.

Can BirdDog Enterprise be customized for my unique needs?

• Yes, our software allows you to customise screens such as adding new fields, new tabs and features such as drop downs. You can also customize the reports so you get the information you want in the format that works best for you. Our web based ERP software is developed on our own application framework and therefore makes it very quick and easy to extend. If you need further customization, such as new features or functionality simply get it touch. If we classify the features you require as generic then chances are we can add them as part of our ongoing development activity. If they are not then we’ll be happy to give you an estimate for the cost and time it takes to get it done.
