Procedure for Entering Bank Book Transactions

1.     Enter Transaction (BB \ Transactions \ Enter Transactions)

a)     Enter Unique Batch ID (Normally use Name and date)

b)    Cash Account – Enter General Ledger number for cash account used (ie. 101 0 - Cash in Bank - Chase)

c)     Document No. – If there is no document number.  Use date of transaction.

d)    Transaction Type – Select the appropriate code for the transaction.  The search window displays the code and description of the transaction type.

e)     Transaction Reference – The system will fill this field in with the description of the transaction type.  You may override the entry and enter your own reference.

f)      Transaction Date – Enter date of transaction.

g)    D/C (Debit or Credit) – Enter D (debit) if the bank has debited the account you entered above.  (Taken money out.)   Enter C (credit) if the bank has credited the account you entered above. (Put money into.)

h)    Transaction Amount – Enter the amount of the transaction.
DO NOT ENTER NEGATIVE NUMBERS.

i)      Save the record to the list box below.

j)      Exit screen when last transaction is saved in list box.

 

2.     Print Edit List (BB \ Transactions \ Print Transactions…)

a)     Enter Batch ID used in the transaction preparation. Starting and ending or <Tab> for all. click OK

b)    At the Print Options screen, choose SCREEN (or PRINTER for a hard copy), OK

 

3.     Post Vouchers (BB \ Transactions \ Post Transactions…)

a)     Enter Batch ID used in the transaction preparation. Starting and ending or <Tab> for all. click OK

b)    At the Print Options screen, choose FILE.
