The credit card industry has "levels" of data that may be included in a transaction. Typically, the higher the level the lower the credit card fees:
- Level I - minimum amount of data required to process a transaction such as credit card number, expiration date, and billing name
- Level II - Extra order summary information such as customer number, purchase order number, delivery address, and sales tax amount
- Level III - Line level information such as item SKU, description, price, UOM, discount, and commodity codes
Not all gateways have the same level of support. BirdDog has implemented the following level for each of the supported gateways:
- Authorize.Net - Level III
- CyberSource - Level II
- 3DSI - Level III
- WorldPay - Level III
- PayFlowPro - Level I
- eBizCharge - Level III
