How Do I Diagnose Issues with the Connector?

×

Use the following steps to troubleshoot whethere the connector is functional:

  • Verify that the "Run Connectors" job exists
    • In Enterprise for Windows, click on Maintain | Jobs. You should see your job here.
    • On the website, go to System Management | Automation | Jobs. You should see your job here.
  • Verify that the "Run Connectors" job is enabled
    • In Enterprise for Windows | Maintain | Jobs, if your job is not enabled, you should see ON HOLD.
    • On the website, if your job is not enabled, the On Hold box will be checked.
  • Verify that the "Run Connectors" job has run when it should have (ie. if it is set to every minute it should have run in the last minute)
    • In Enterprise for Windows, edit the job. At the bottom will be the Last Run Date.
    • On the website, the Last Run Time shows on the page you're on as above.
  • If it hasn't run, verify that the service is installed, enabled, and running
    • To do this, go to the server where Job Master is installed and running and bring up the Services panel (Start | search for Services.) Locate BirdDog Job Master and select it. If JM is running, you should see the Stop and Restart options; if it is not running, you should see the Start option.
  • If it has run, check logging for any errors
    • Go to the server where Job Master is installed and then navigate to the folder where the program is installed. Search for any error text files.
    • In Enterprise for Windows, click on Help | Application Logging.
    • On the website, navigate to System Management | Log Viewer.
