Using Job Master to Process Orders

The BirdDog system automatically processes orders when they come through. However, if you have a high traffic site, or maybe you have some complicated, long-running order rules, and the site is taking too long to get to the thank you page, you can use Job Master to process orders, thus hiding this time from the end user.

Here's how to make that happen:

First, ensure that you are running Job Master against the database on which your web site is running.

Next, follow these steps:

• Deactivate the automatic order processing:
  • System Management > Site Settings > Order Settings tab
  • Check Use Job Master to Process Orders

• Set up the job:
  • System Management > Jobs
  • Add a Job
    
    • Job Type: Process Awaiting Carts
