To use this, you will first need to ensure certain elements are setup.
Google Maps
- This presumes that you already have a Google Maps Javascript API and Geocoding API Keys.
- On the Dashboard, go to System Management.
- Click on Site Settings.
- Click on your site's URL.
- Input the API Key in the appropriate field (Google Maps API Key:) and Save.
- Reload Site Settings.
Categories Setup
- On the Dashboard, go to System Management.
- There, you should see Document Layouts under the Content Management header. Click on it.
- Cycle through the Document Layouts and ensure that either Categories37 exists. If it does not, you will need to create it.
Group Setup
- On the Dashboard, go to BRAIN.
- Click on Groups.
- Create a Group called Show on Map.
Customer/Store/Truck Setup
- Bring up the appropriate customer contact in BRAIN. You should be on /BRAIN/ContactForm.aspx.
- Ensure the physical address is filled completely out on the Contact Information tab.
- Now click on the Groups tab.
- In the dropdown list, you should see Show on Map. Add this to the contact and save.
The Page
- Now, for the final step. Create or edit the existing page you want this map to show up.
- Ensure this page is set to use Categories37 on the Page Information tab.
Voila!
- At this point, you should be good to go.
- If you want the image icon representing your location (or store or truck or whatever) to change, our web guys will need to handle that.
- Finally, if you are using this to represent a truck, any time you change the customer address to represent current location, you'll need to reload the site settings.
