Autoship is designed to allow a customer to order an item or items one time, then have those items be automatically reordered and shipped to them according to the schedule they selected. The customer can, as necessary, change the frequency with which these deliveries will be made.
Behind the scenes, the system checks the database for customers who have autoship orders scheduled, then automatically generates a sales order according to the frequency previously established, all without a CSR needing to be involved.
Note that if the customer has credit card terms, the system will automatically process the newly created order against the default saved credit card for this customer.
