Using Tasks

When you open a task, the following screen displays:

 

Task Screen

 

The screen has the following options:

  • Start Time Slip - Creates a timeslip associated with the task.
  • Acknowledged - Removes task from Inbox. 
  • Notify - When Notifier is being used,
  • Incident ID - Link to Project.
  • Assigned To - User responsible for next action on task.
  • Time - Used in conjunction with date to place task on daily appointment book.
  • Priority - Used to filter and sort tasks in To Do List and Daily Task list.
  • Code -
  • Date - If task is Acknowledged, the task will show on the Calendar screen for this date.
  • Due Date - Due date for task.
  • Estimated Hours Remaining - Estimated length of appointment or time remaining to complete task.
  • Task Category - User defined for tracking, sorting, and grouping tasks.
  • Reference - Task description that will display on lists and calendars
  • Notes - Appropriate notes regarding task, activity, or communication to other users working on task.

Here is a brief explanation of how the tasks are handled in the system:

  • Move a task to history
  • Enter notes.
  • Complete task.
  • Click OK
  • Move a task to your To Do List
  • Enter notes.
  • Acknowledge task without date or time.
  • Click OK.
  • Move task to your Daily Task List
  • Enter notes.
  • Enter date you want task to appear.
  • Acknowledge.
  • Click OK.
  • Move task to your Calendar
  • Enter notes.
  • Enter date and time you want task to appear.
  • Acknowledge.
  • Click OK.
  • Forward or Reply task and move to history
  • Enter notes.
  • Complete task.
  • Click Forward or Reply.
  • Select user you are assigning task.
  • Click OK.
  • Forward or Reply task and move to your To Do List
  • Enter notes.
  • Acknowledge task without date or time.
  • Click Forward or Reply.
  • Select user you are assigning task.
  • Click OK.
  • Forward or Reply task and move to your Daily Task List
  • Enter notes.
  • Acknowledge task with date but without time.
  • Click Forward or Reply.
  • Select user you are assigning task.
  • Click OK.
  • Forward or Reply task and move to your Calendar
  • Enter notes.
  • Acknowledge task with date and time.
  • Click Forward or Reply.
  • Select user you are assigning task.
  • Click OK.

 

 

  • The Priority, Code, and Task Category are used to filter and sort items in your To Do list, and Daily Task lists.
