Roles

A role is a simple grouping of security permissions applied to users to restrict and allow access to Enterprise. Included below are BirdDog generated default roles. A brief description of the access granted to users with this role is given in the description field. You may add, edit, remove, or add custom roles to any of the defaults listed below in whatever manner desired.

Roles can be accessed by navigating to (Enterprise) System Management | System | Roles or (Enterprise for Windows) Maintain | Security | Roles.

  • Customer Service
    • General access to the customer service module
    • Allows placing new orders for customers that you have view permissions for and items that you have buy permissions for. Enterprise users without this role will go to the standard Ecommerce checkout process.
    • Allows editing of existing orders that have a status of booked or credit hold
    • Allows adding a new customer
    • Allows viewing/editing customers, assuming the user also has view/edit permissions to the specific customer
    • Allows editing of existing shopping carts that have not been finalized
  • Billing
    • General access to the end of day billing process
    • Allows releasing on hold orders
    • Allows editing of existing orders regardless of status
    • Allows editing of existing shopping carts regardless of status
  • Credit Manager
    • Allows releasing on hold orders
  • Admin
    • Allows deleting of existing customers
